I believe, as a general rule, that most of the people who work for fish and wildlife agencies are well-intentioned.
There are bad apples — or lazy or incompetent or inept — ones, too, as in any other field. But for the most part, those folks are people passionate enough about the outdoors to have made a career of it.
Still, when you’re dealing with government, there’s always bureaucracy involved. Regulations tend to run amok.
This came across my inbox recently. It’s from out west, but reveals a real sense of humor, and probably frustration, too. It made me smile, though.
