Everybodyadventures.com and Tribune-Review outdoors writer Bob Frye won several awards recently.

Three came in statewide competition sponsored by the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association.

Frye won a first place award in the newspaper feature category for a story about how record gun sales are boosting conservation funding. You can see it by clicking here.

He also won two first runner-up awards. One was for a story in the wildlife conservation partnership award category about the work of wildlife rehabilitators (see it here). The other was for a photo in the best fishing or boating photograph category of a northern pike (see it, and the story it accompanied, by clicking here).

Frye also won three awards in national competition.

He earned two second place awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America.

One was for a story about falconry and the relationship between hunters and their birds. A version of that is here.

The other was a story about how anglers can have success fishing topwater poppers for bass. Check it out by clicking here.

And finally, Frye also won an outstanding achievement award from the Professional Outdoor Media Association. That came for a story about a hunter’s reflections on his last-ever last opening day of deer season. It’s available here.
