Woodcock need specific habitat to thrive.

Woodcock are tiny birds, but they’re special, too.

It’s that time of year — woodcock are filling the twilight skies with their amazing courtship displays.

An event is going to highlight that, while also showcasing some work being done to benefit the birds on public land. It’s free to check out, too. The event will showcase how private landowners can supprot the birds on their properties as well.

Forbes State Forest — site of all manner of opportunities to hike, bike, fish, hunt, ski and more — is hosting the event.

All of the details are below, in the official news release. Time is short, and the weather may or may not be great, but check it out.

Woodcock are a special species.

Here’s what’s happening with woodcock in Forbes State Forest.
